2nd Edition of Italian Contemporary Film Festival Announces Winners

TORONTO, ON - July 8, 2013 - - The 2nd edition of the Italian Contemporary Film Festival, presented by IC Savings, drew to a close on Saturday night with the announcement of the ICFF Awards, the screening of Silvio Soldini's Come Undone and a post-screening Gala at Andrew Richard Designs.

The closing ceremony marked a successful 11-day festival, which began June 26 and showcased a diverse and vivid selection of 62 Italian and Italian-themed features and shorts, including 32 premieres representing the best in new Italian cinema.

Artistic Director, Cristiano de Florentiis and Managing Director, Maurizio Magnifico were on hand to thank visiting and local filmmakers for their participation, throngs of enthusiastic filmgoers of all ages, sponsors for their patronage and support, and dedicated volunteers for making the second edition of the ICFF a great success.

Filmmakers Working With Filmmakers Documentary Masters Apprenticeship Program

TORONTO, June 27, 2013 - The Documentary Organization of Canada | Association des documentaristes du Canada (DOC) and CBC's digital channel documentary are proud to announce the recipients of the 2013 documentary mentorship program - GIVING VOICE: FILMMAKERS WORKING WITH FILMMAKERS. Seven pairs of talented apprentices and established Canadian documentary filmmakers have been chosen to work on a variety of exciting new projects.

"What an embarrassment of riches in this third year of the program!" states Lisa Fitzgibbons, Executive Director of DOC. "There is such a fantastic selection of projects and apprentices and we are excited at the prospect of the program's outcomes. Giving Voice is fostering the development of a wide range of skills across the country and will have far-reaching impact in its capacity building within the Canadian documentary sector. We are grateful to documentary channel for supporting such a unique professional development program."

Eligible projects were reviewed by the Giving Voice Selection Committee, comprised of Chanda Chevannes, Ed Barreveld and Jordana Ross.

Foxed - An Award-winning Animated Short Gets 3D Premiere

The enchanting, stop motion animated short will screen in front of the awe-inspiring feature documentary, Storm Surfers 3D, as part of TIFF's exciting summer program line-up.

Emily is up against the sinister forces of foxes in this tale about fighting for what you believe in.
